Cyanocobamin and Cobolamin are Vitamin B12, which is also needed, found in vegetables such as soya, algae, and seaweeds. Vitamin C, as we all know, can be obtained from citrus foods and fruits. It is also one of the anti-depressant vitamins. As for minerals, selenium is advised. Foods rich in selenium are seafood, chicken, egg, and lean red meat.

3. Take in herbs. There are herbs that may replace chemical remedies. To date, St. John’s Wort is the best one yet. Its extract, although in a pill-like form, is all natural and has no side effects. About 300 mg is administered to thrice daily to achieve optimum results. Aside from St. John’s Wort, Ginkgo Biloba is another herb worth checking out. This one is believed to cure patients suffering from major depression. It is highly recommended for elderly people who are or have become resistant to the normal drug or chemical treatment therapies.

4. Psychotherapy. This is the professional way of addressing the problem. It is similar to counseling but it concerns a relatively deeper emotional and metal problems, as in this case, depression. Psychotherapy intends to improve a person’s mental health and stability, as well as his behavioral and emotional problems. A trained psychologist, a psychiatrist, or similar experts can conduct it. It involves the use of a variety of psychological techniques and approaches.

5. Meditation. Meditation can aid in offsetting depression. Meditation is the process of calming the mind and putting it a tranquil state. It is a method wherein a person becomes aware of his mental condition.
